Generosity
It is the day after Christmas and I am thinking about all the generous things friends and family have done for me. The beautiful gifts, the time spent together and laughs we shared.
I am also amazed at the generosity of the students and families at Oak Ridge. Being new to the building, I wasn’t sure what the holidays would look like at school. However, after the last week of school, before the holiday break, I was inspired. The teachers were busy creating wonderful memories for their students and each other. I saw an amazing abundance of gifts and food being prepared for families in need this year. Students came to the lab with thoughtful gifts and cards written with kind sentiments. Parents stopped by and welcomed me with generous compliments and holiday greetings. Having only been at Oak Ridge for 4 months, I was overwhelmed with the generosity and kindness shown to everyone who enters it’s doors. It is an amazing place to go and work everyday.
So, my questions to you: How have you (been) shown generosity this Christmas? Maybe it was a kind word or a special note or a thoughtful gift. Whatever it was, I’d love to hear how your generosity or the generosity of others has made a difference in your holiday!
